Hawaii post 1

Since McKenzie had put her mission papers in, we got a little panicked and wanted to go on one last trip with her before they all started leaving...:( We wanted to go somewhere we hadn't been before and Hawaii seemed the best option after a long cold winter. I found 1/2 price flights and called Mike to ok the trip, but as I did that, the price went up. Since it was still a good rate, I thought I'd click on it to make sure and before I knew it, I bought tickets. So we made a plan and were really excited about it. We didn't tell the kids where we were going until we were almost on the plane. Then we surprised them with leis in the car to tell them. They were SO excited! We rented a condo on WaiKiki beach for the first couple of days, then went on the North Shore and rented a beach house. SO fun! We did all our favorites with our kids that we did on our previous 2 trips with just Mike and I, and some new things...Here are some of the highlights. It was the best Spring Break EVER! (2013)

Bydo-in Temple

Someone showed us that you could hold bird food in your hand and the birds would come to you. So we tried it and the kids thought it was so fun.

Trying new fruits from the island.  Not sure what this even was... but Bradley wanted to buy it!

We rented a condo the first couple of nights then a beach house the rest of the time.  The backyard had a coconut tree and Bradley got a BIG idea to try to reach and get a coconut. He found any ladder and stick he could and worked for a couple days with the kids to climb high and finally got his coconut (which was NOT ripe by the way) but it was fun to get down!

Finally got that coconut!

Addy was so tired and wanted to be carried.  The older ones fought over who would carry her and so they all ended up doing it.
