Funny Nathan

My day spoke in church Sunday and he told of his "isms". Things he's learned over the years. One of those things was that "it's not always your fault, but it IS your problem", as in some things in life you cannot control, but you have to deal with. Like if you were born blind- not your fault, but it is your problem you have to cope with. So this morning, as we were rushing out to get to the elementary and high schools, Nathan dropped his shoe in the driveway and we didn't realize it until he got to school. I hadn't realized Nathan had even listened to Grandpa's talk Sunday until he said, "Well, Mom, like Grandpa says, 'It's not always my fault, but it IS my problem.'" I chuckled a little as we drove back to pick up his shoe and get him back to school.

First Couple of days in the new house.

We have TRULY enjoyed the new house, especially having no TV! Our children have gotten along better and spent the last few days playing games with each other, poring over scrapbooks, reading and doing homework, and practicing instruments. I think we are going to take a TV break this year. Every few years we take 6 months or a year off TV and LOVE it. Not sure why we go back to having TV, except we miss having the convenience of general conf, etc. But for now, we are going to enjoy each other!

Moving day

Last Saturday was moving day. It only took 4 hours with all the cousins, aunts and uncles and grandpa and Elder's Q. pres. The worst was the refrigerator, which we had to take the handles off and the entertainment center which we had to "birth" down the stairway to the basement. It came out breach, which was a difficult delivery.
Afterward, we went to my mom's for soup, rolls and banana splits.
Everyone was sore after, but the kids all seemed to have a good time, despite the hard work.

ok...the next few you may laugh at. Don't think of our family as Rednecks, but this is how they rode down the dirt road a few blocks to my house from the storage unit. Can you see McKenzie playing the piano? It was like a parade. We were hoping nobody or nuthin' (now I sound redneckish- hee hee) would fall off the trailers, but they all made it ok.

Brian's Birthday

We all got together to celebrate Brian's 37th birthday. Remember a year ago, my handicapped brother who wasn't supposed to live more than a couple weeks longer? It's amazing how well he's doing. Glad he stuck around so we could enjoy him longer. He loves birthdays and opening presents and blowing out candles. He was all smiles that whole day! The kids have enjoyed being around him and giving him "high 5's". We love this guy!
